about

This is Darlene's very first album! Darlene's 5 octave range is used throughout the album, including her renowned whistle-tone range on tracks !,2,4,6,10. Full of positive messages in a pop/adult-contemporary setting. Other rarities: recorded on 12 Tracks, all her own background vocals she recorded and sampled on the first 16 bit sampler of the day, the Emax with serial number 11 which she still owns to this day! The two ballads are "Habits of the Heart" and "Dreamtime" where she played Australian digeridoo and other Australian percussion instruments. "Start the Party Early" is a call to clean up the damage humans have done to the earth to prevent the effects of climate change we are experiencing today. Darlene worked on this album for five years and performed it in various venues in Los Angeles and nationwide the year it was released in 1993.
